I volunteered on Saturday with Little Lights, an Christian ministry for kids in D.C. Volunteers get to hang out with kids, eat lunch, play video games and work on a craft, and Saturday's craft was making dresses and superhero costumes out of newspaper. So I modeled a kicky party dress made out of New York Times and Washington Posts, a little one-shouldered number. One of the little girls I was helping tape together a newspaper dress just would not talk to me. Her friend told me, "She doesn't like you and is going to ignore you because you ask too many questions." Yikes! I just wanted to know what her favorite color was...
Then I went directly to a luncheon at my friend Erin's house, only to arrive and discover that I had newsprint all over my face and clothes, and was still wearing a nametag that said "Miss Adele." Later Erin's cat escaped and I tried to chase it under the porch and got dirt all over. It was a hard day for my sweater.
